The European Commission has confirmed Romania’s right to strengthen professional regulation in the field of compliance (AML/CFT), based on the principle of “minimum harmonization”. In this context, ICI Bucharest supports this endeavor through technical expertise in the development, auditing, and monitoring of secure digital infrastructures, essential for testing, certification, and professional training processes.

Dr. eng. Adrian-Victor Vevera, General Director of ICI Bucharest, is a member of the Interdisciplinary Council for Professional Testing, an advisory and supervisory body that validates testing, certification, and professional training processes in AML/CFT and international sanctions.

ICI Bucharest contributes to this endeavor through expertise in IT security and auditing, supporting the development of robust, transparent, and resilient mechanisms, essential for protecting financial integrity”, stated Dr. eng. The interdisciplinary council for professional testing is led by Ion Florin, president of the Association for Compliance and Development (ACD), and brings together representatives from the academic, legal, institutional, research and business environments: Gheorghe Bică (prof. univ. dr., vice-rector, Universitatea „Spiru Haret” din București ), Lucian Botea (lect. univ. dr., vice-rector, Universitatea Româno-Americană din București ), Dr. Av. Aurelian Gherghe (associate univ. dr., vice-dean, Faculty of Law, Universitatea Ecologica din Bucuresti ), Iuliu Stocklosa (president, Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Marian Buda (lawyer, professor univ. dr., former judge of the High Court of Cassation and Justice and former president of the Superior Council of Magistracy), Alexandru Boroi (prof. univ. dr. in criminal law, doctoral supervisor) and Marius Petrescu (prof. univ. dr., full member of the Academy of Romanian Scientists, former general director of ORNISS), scientific coordinator of the Council.

The professionalization initiative is developed by the Association for Compliance and Development (ACD) and benefits from explicit European validation of its compatibility with the European Union legislative framework, in cooperation with the relevant institutional and economic environment.
