The September restart brings a genuine restart this time: beginning this month, London is my new home, as is RUSI – Royal United Services Institute, the oldest think-tank in the world and one of the global top 10 in security and defence.
I will be Head of the RUSI programme on European Security in Transformation and Senior Research Fellow, at the most interesting time that one can choose to work on these issues! I will be coordinating the UK-EU strategic security dialogue and so many other topics, alongside an amazing team in London and Brussels.
I very much look forward to a both exciting and humbling learning experience and what the future brings – and hope that I can contribute a bit to ensuring that it is a peaceful one.
…and no, I will not be really leaving Eastern Europe or Romania. I will be keeping all my other affiliations, with GlobalFocus Center in Bucharest, the European Council on Foreign Relations, Europe’s Futures Initiative Vienna, Agora Strategy Institute Munich and the Belgrade Center for Security Policy and hope to be able to consolidate east-west cooperation and communication!
