Last Thursday at the European Parliament, we spoke about something that sits at the heart of 4P-CAN Project: cancer prevention only matters if it can actually work in people’s lives, in communities, and in the places where inequalities are hardest to address.

I am grateful to Victor NEGRESCU, Vice-President of the European Parliament, for hosting this dialogue and for recognising the role of local and regional authorities in making prevention real. I also deeply appreciated the message from Health Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi, which reaffirmed that implementation and equity need to stay high on the European agenda.

What made this moment especially meaningful for me was seeing the experience of the Lerești Living Lab brought into a European conversation — as proof that local realities can shape better policy.
