I was pleased to join Aviation-Event 2026 CLJ, hosted by Cluj International Airport “Avram Iancu”, already a key platform for high-level dialogue in European aviation.
In the innovation panel, I shared the perspective of Romanian airlines under the RACA umbrella on how we can strengthen Romania’s connectivity, support the strategic role of regional airports, especially Cluj, with its ambition to reach 7 million passengers by 2040, and accelerate the transition to greener aviation through more efficient fleets, digitalisation and Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF).
With national airports surpassing 28.5 million passengers in 2025, Romania is no longer just “recovering”, it is entering a new growth cycle that requires smart policies, modern infrastructure (including the new CAT III ILS at Cluj) and genuine partnerships between airlines, airports and public authorities.
Many thanks to the Aviation-Event team and to Cluj International Airport for the invitation and excellent organisation. I remain strongly committed to advancing Romanian aviation and to consolidating our country’s place on the European and global connectivity map, through a competitive, responsible and innovation‑driven industry.
