Congratulations to Ivaylo Petrov, Dimitar Kalev and Assya Kounsulova for leading the launch of the Bulgarian National Cancer Mission Hub on Wednesday – an excellent example of leadership in cancer control and innovation in Eastern Europe.
With 90+ organisations already engaged, the Bulgarian Cancer Mission Hub is quickly positioning itself as a key asset for tackling cancer inequalities – especially the East–West and urban–rural divides – by strengthening the connection between science and society, in the framework of hashtag#EUCancerMission.
I was particularly pleased to moderate the roundtable “International Partnership Dialogue for the European Cancer Mission community”, together with colleagues from ECHoS | Establishing of Cancer Mission Hubs: Networks and Synergies representing national Cancer Mission Hubs from Poland (Lidia Dyndor), Portugal (Hugo R. Soares), Malta (Ian Gauci Borda), the Netherlands (Carla van Laer) and of course Bulgaria (Ivaylo Petrov).
Looking forward to building on this momentum and strengthening our collaboration with Bulgarian friends and colleagues also through the ongoing 4P-CAN Project and CURTAIN Project.
