Gratian Mihailescu: About the possibility that Bucharest may soon have low-emission zones

The other day, I spoke with Răzvan on the about the possibility that Bucharest may soon have low-emission zones. These zones already exist in most European cities. Here, we’re still at a standstill.

I think the problem is that we don’t communicate these issues very well. We talk about sustainability, climate neutrality and reducing our carbon footprint, but in reality, this is about our health. It’s about clean air and safety. That’s what it’s really about.

I also talked about the recent launch of the piatetelibere.ro project and what it means for District 2. But I also invited people to the “Open Streets Bucharest” event and to the campaign that “Streets for People” launching next week, where we will continue the PiateteLibere.ro exhibition.

There will also be a discussion with General Mayor Ciprian Ciucu and District 2 Mayor Rareș Hopincă about how to make cities accessible for people, not cars.

What do you think—how can pedestrians and drivers learn to share the city? 🙂
