Dr. eng. Adrian-Victor Vevera, General Director of ICI Bucharest, met with His Excellency Takashi Katae, Ambassador of Japan to Romania, and with the Embassy’s team of specialists.

The meeting focused on the possibility of developing joint projects and expanding cooperation with the academic sector and other organisations interested in research, innovation and emerging technologies. The discussions also covered “Society 6.0” from the perspective of how new technologies may influence society’s development in the years ahead.

“We already have a solid foundation for cooperation with our Japanese partners, and we want to build on it through concrete projects. There are numerous areas where we can work together, from research to applying new technologies in the economy and society. Discussions on Society 6.0 are important in this context because they help us see more clearly where technology is heading and how we can prepare for what comes next,” said Dr. eng. Adrian-Victor Vevera, General Director of ICI Bucharest.

ICI Bucharest and the Embassy of Japan in Romania have previously collaborated on initiatives dedicated to “Society 5.0”, while representatives of the Embassy of Japan have also taken part in the Digital Innovation Summit Bucharest, organised by the institute.
