Trust in information is no longer just a journalism issue. The more tech develops, it’s becoming more clear that mechanisms that establish trust in content should be part of the infrastructure for democratic resilience.

Glad to moderate a very insightful discussion at CEPIC 2026 on labelling, provenance and trust mechanisms in media, representing another step forward for the EANA – The European Alliance of News Agencies stakeholder engagement.

The panel was focused on how Provenancefortrust grows into a trusted verification tool. Thank you to Xavier BRUNI (TrustMyContent), Mathieu K. (TrustMyContent) and Florian Barbaro, PhD (UncovAI) for helpingme better understand the tech details of how labelling works!

I was also happy to see many EANA members represented at the Congress, proving news agencies’ interest in how AI can become an opportunity when it comes to image verification & labelling. Agencia EFE / Agencia EFE Corporativa was a also a partner to the CEPIC Congress 2026.

There is (a lot) more to AI than image generation, and we should focus on what makes it trustworthy.

Also great to meet my new colleagues from the Digital Media Leadership Alliance – DMLA Board at CEPIC! Joe Naylor, Sarah Lefebvre, Jonathan Wells, looking forward to a fantastic DMLA congress this autumn!

Congratulations to Sylvie Fodor & the CEPIC Board for a successful event and thank you for the long-standing partnership!
