In years past at Geopolitical Futures, if there was a crisis or a war, we would go into a “Red Alert,” as we called it, suspending our regular model of daily articles on various subjects in favor of a constant alert on details of the conflict and analysis. We had the kind of details the media didn’t have. Ever since social media surged, along with the information (and nonsense) it contains, we found ourselves announcing events already on social media from sources standing next to the event, so our value in the Red Alert model disappeared.

What remains is our analysis that you do not get elsewhere. Rather than bits of information, we have focused on analysis of the whys, goals and strategies of the war and its participants, writing daily analyses of the evolution of the war in various dimensions. We will continue focusing on the war with Iran as it progresses, going back to other geopolitical issues when we run out of new things to say, or the war ends, or the war normalizes, like the Russia-Ukraine war, which to some tragic extent simply is still there, with only occasional significant events.
