It was a real pleasure to meet in Nicosia my longtime friend, Victor Negrescu, Member of the European Parliament and Vice-President of the European Parliament.

We have known each other for more than 20 years. Victor belongs to a generation I have encouraged and supported — and one that has confirmed, through seriousness and consistency, that trust in young people is never misplaced.

Together we visited the Romanian school in Nicosia and met the ladies from the leadership of the Alliance of Romanians in Cyprus, whose dedication keeps our community active and united.

I am confident Victor will continue to perform as both a Romanian and a European politician and remain a strong supporter of the Romanian community in Cyprus.
