It was a pleasure attending the General Counsel Summit UAE organized last week in Dubai.

🚩As discussions revolved around the modern interplay between the roles of GCs and law firms, I had the opportunity to raise the relevance of hashtag#execution of legal advice by outside counsel.

🎯To me, this is a circular matter. With senior management expecting the GC to take part in enterprise-level decisions beyond legal matters, corporate legal function relies on a dynamic partnership between the GC and external law firms. To this end, law firms must increasingly operate as strategic partners rather than purely transactional service providers, supporting GCs in bridging hashtag#legal considerations with hashtag#business priorities.
And execution focused advice is the way to achieve this.
