If Australia can regulate platforms and support news media, any country can.

That’s my key takeaway from last week’s Future Media event organized by Ricky Sutton and hosted by AFP in Paris.

I pleaded for a broader view on how the news media environment functions, beyond strictly business, because the context has changed and this is not business as usual anymore. And that was before Meta’s Commercial Terms… I also took the opportunity to raise the question of EANA member Suomen Tietotoimisto STT which is currently struggling for existence in a context of information war waged by state actors that don’t have neither Finland’s nor the European Union’s best interest at heart.
