The arrival of TAROM’s first Boeing 737 MAX 8 in Bucharest is a milestone I welcome both professionally and personally.

Having worked at TAROM during a particularly challenging period for aviation, I know the dedication of the people behind the airline. Seeing this next step in its fleet renewal is especially meaningful to me.

For an airline, a new aircraft represents a substantial commitment to its future: greater operational efficiency, lower fuel consumption and a stronger foundation for long-term competitiveness.

As President of the Romanian Airline Companies Association “Carpathia”(RACA), I welcome every investment that strengthens Romanian carriers. Their development supports skilled employment, Romania’s connectivity and the wider economy.

That commitment needs to be matched by predictable policies and fair competition. Airlines investing in their fleets and people need a business environment in which those investments can deliver lasting results.

Congratulations to the TAROM teams and everyone involved in bringing YR-BGO home. I look forward to seeing it carry passengers in TAROM’s colours.
