This week, BBS Business Intelligence MBA had an immersive study trip in Brussels — engaging with European Institutions, NATO, leading policy think tanks, and major industry players shaping decision-making at the highest level – offered a comprehensive view of how intelligence is transformed into strategy and action, in business, in politics and in security field.
Our discussions with Victor Negrescu, Vice-President of the EU Parliament, and later with Siegfried Mureșan, Member of the EU Parliament, provided a comprehensive perspective on how intelligence informs legislative processes. These exchanges highlighted the importance of credible, timely information in shaping policy, negotiating priorities, and navigating an increasingly complex environment.

Our meeting with Filip Negreanu-Arboreanu, Deputy Head of Unit – Road Transport, emphasized the role of data, regulatory foresight, and cross-sector collaboration in shaping sustainable European transport systems.
European Economic and Social Committee is the voice of organized civil society in Europe and our session there broadened our understanding of stakeholder engagement and the consultative dimension of EU policymaking.

The open debate on hybrid warfare, hosted by the Senior Associate Fellow Bernard Siman, O.B.E., offered a thought-provoking exploration of modern conflict dynamics, emphasizing how hybrid threats —spanning cyber, informational, and macro and micro economic dimensions—require integrated intelligence frameworks and cross-institutional coordination.
At the EEAS–ESDC, we examined the external dimension of EU intelligence and diplomacy.
At Martens Centre (one of the most influential political think tanks in Europe), our engagement with Federico Reho added a valuable policy-oriented perspective, focusing on European governance, political strategy, and the role of ideological frameworks.
A defining moment of the week was our visit to NATOHQ, where we were hosted by H.E. Dan Neculăescu, Permanent Delegation of Romania to NATO. Beyond understanding the Alliance’s strategic priorities, we had the unique opportunity to attend the press conference in which the Secretary General presented the 2025 Annual Report. Witnessing how strategic narratives are communicated at the highest level, in real time, was both insightful and impactful.
At Deloitte’s Office we explored how the private sector integrates intelligence into strategic decision-making, with a focus on risk assessment, data analytics, and organizational resilience in uncertain environments.
Our session with Kristian Ruby, the Secretary General of EURELECTRIC offered a deep dive into the energy landscape.
