The International Affairs & Trade Fairs Division of PHDCCI organised an Interactive Session with the Romanian Business Delegation on 3rd March 2026 at PHD House, New Delhi, led by Mrs. Clara Volintiru, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, accompanied by H.E. Ms. Sena Latif, Ambassador of Romania to India.

Dr. Ranjeet Mehta, CEO & Secretary General, PHDCCI, welcomed the delegation, highlighting 77 years of India–Romania diplomatic ties and PHDCCI’s commitment to expanding bilateral economic cooperation.

Mrs. Clara Volintiru emphasized accelerating the speed, ambition, and scale of engagement, leveraging Romania’s EU position, capital access, and Black Sea connectivity with India’s innovation ecosystem to deliver tangible B2B outcomes.

Ambassador Sena Latif underlined the strength of the Strategic Partnership, the potential of the proposed India–EU FTA, and Romania’s logistics advantages via Port of Constanta, Danube access, and Schengen connectivity—affirming, “Romania is back—in India.”

Dr. Vijay Mehta, Chair – International Affairs (Europe & CIS), PHDCCI, highlighted opportunities in engineering, pharma, automobiles, IT, agriculture, and tourism, calling for structured B2B and long-term institutional collaboration.

Mr. Vikas Khanduri, Co-Chair – International Affairs (Europe & CIS), PHDCCI, delivered the Vote of Thanks, emphasizing MSME mobilization, trust-based ties, and cooperation in education, innovation, and technology.

Mr. Naveen Seth, Deputy Secretary General, PHDCCI, moderated the session and outlined trade and investment facilitation initiatives.

The session concluded with Q&A, dedicated B2B meetings, and a networking lunch, attended by 50+ Indian industry delegates.
